Ever since I was a child, I was always fascinated with Japan and the culture. It reached a point where in adult, I had often wondered what it would be like living in Japan as an Arab? After much contemplation, I embarked on a month long excursion to Japan in to meet with Arabs and understand what it’s truly like to reside in Japan. In addition to interviewing them, I took portrait shots of the Arabs I interviewed using an Instax instant camera to preserve a tangible memento from meeting these exceptional individuals.
